The Broadmoor Chamber Singers have been asked to perform twice in the next week. Stop and see us if you are available:
Boston First Night, December 31.
Since First Night Celebrations start early, so do we. We plan to kick off 13 hours of entertainment presented by 21st Century Productions and Cathedral Church of St. Paul. We'll sing between noon and 12:30 pm, so you can't complain we kept you up late.
As for most indoor entertainment you will need a First Night button ($18 each, children under 4 are free). You can get buttons at lots of places, check out the First Night website for more info. The church is located at 128 Tremont Street, Boston, practically across the street from the Park Street T Station. You can see more info (look under Upcoming Events) at the church's website and you can check their link for directions if you need them. It is also listed in the Boston First Night Program Guide.
Morse Institute Library Rededication
On January 1, 1874 the Morse Institute Library opened its doors in Natick, MA for the first time. On Sunday, January 4, 2009 the library will be kicking off a celebration of its 135th anniversary in a big way. Broadmoor Chamber Singers has been asked to lend a hand.
We'll be singing when the doors open at 1pm for the special rededication ceremony, and will also be taking part in the ceremony scheduled to begin at 1:15pm. The program will pay tribute to the resilience of Natick's townspeople who survived a devastating fire in January 1874, an economic collapse, and the Civil War. You can see more about the re-enactments planned, and he rededication ceremony itself at the Library's website. Check out their Events page or download their January newsletter. Stop by if you can!
